CFC will host its first self-defense seminar: CrossFight! It will be held on Saturday, April 30th, from 11am until 1:30pm and the cost will be $20 for CFC members and $30 for guests and non-members. This class is designed for those with no or limited experience in martial arts, and will cover basic striking and ground techniques. At the conclusion, there will be an optional circuit-style workout (think Fight Gone Bad), which will incorporate the techniques that were taught, along with fitness exercises mixed in.
Instructors for this event will be Adam Laudano, a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, along with several police officers with martial arts backgrounds and CrossFit Level I trainers. The size of the class will be limited to 20 people, in order to keep the training personal and “hands-on”, so the first 20 people to register and pay will be guaranteed a spot.
The class will be broken up into two groups: one group will learn and practice striking while the other group works on ground techniques, then there will be a break, the groups will switch, followed by another break, and will conclude with an optional workout (which will be scaled accordingly). All equipment will be provided. Loose, comfortable clothing and flat shoes are suggested.
