CrossFit’s Approach Gains Fans

A video clip and an article shown this week on Fox News in CT.

Why should I care how strong I am if I just want to look better naked?

An excellent article that we came across, courtesty of RWS CrossFit, about how getting strong turns into looking better naked.

Observations

As I drive to and from CFC every day, I can’t help but notice people jogging/running. It’s certainly a good thing that they are exercising and getting fresh air, but the bad thing is, they don’t look very fit. “Why Do I Train”

Yesterday someone asked me why I train. Caught off guard by the magnitude of the question, I opened my mouth to speak, but couldn’t. It wasn’t that I didn’t have the answer, it was that I had too many.

Pre-Crossfit, I would have compared myself to those women and been crabby for the rest of the day (god bless Kevin for staying with me through my ‘crazy’ days)” … [Read More]

“CrossFit Shapes Up Manama”

“… The RSO’s workout program is based on CrossFit training, a mix of short, high-intensity weightlifting, gymnastic, and cardiovascular activities. They challenge the body in many different ways rather than the long-duration, cardio-only routines that many people follow. Instead of an hour of jogging or swimming, a CrossFit workout might include rounds of pull-ups, rowing, sit-ups, and weights for score, all packed into 30 minutes …”

“Chocol-ade? Study finds chocolate milk works well after exercising”

The link below is to an article from the New Haven Register’s website which outlines a study done by William Lunn, a newly hired assistant professor of exercise science at Southern Connecticut State University. The study compares drinking sports drinks versus chocolate milk post-workout, and their effects on the body.
