The morning and lunch time classes gave it a good run today: 400m Run, 30 Box Jumps, 30 sec rest, 400m Run, 25 KB Swings, 30 sec rest, 400m Run, 20 Push Ups, 30 sec rest, 400m Run, and finish with 15 KB Sumo Dead Lift High Pulls. The Saturday morning Team WOD had two teams: Amy and Ryan vs Marianne, Kathy, and Rob J. Tire Jumps, KB Farmer’s Walk, MB Carries, Burpees, MB Partner Twists, Push Ups, all culminating in “Basket-Medicine Ball Golf” (don’t ask). It was anybody’s game, with both teams throwing at the exact same time! Rob J sunk the winning shot to end the fierce competition.

Friday FRAN: “To know her is to hate her.” What a way to end the week! The morning crew (Rob V, Ryan J, Steve R, Marianne U, Dave G, Kurt M, Rob J and Luis B) had at it, with Marianne being the only one in the pack who had done FRAN before. Marianne had a PR of 7:40 — she had never gotten under 10:00 before today!

The Saturday Morning Team Workout was a blast! Three teams of two went at it, and it was something to see. Claudine brought her husband Kevin (who so “enjoyed” it, he joined after the workout), Ryan D and Rob J, and Coach Dave S and Mike D, took on “Walk the Plank“…while one member did Weighted Step Ups onto a box, the other partner had to hold a Front Plank position; each could switch off until 100 were completed. We held our first Team WOD on Saturday, May 1 (thank you to Merle at CrossFit USA for urging me to try this out). We had 3 pairs of athletes (Marianne and Kathy, Pete and Rob, and husband and wife team John and Amy) tackle a good one: 80 Box Jumps, then Sandbag Carry to the hill top for 80 KB Sumo Dead Lift High Pulls, then 400m Sandbag Carry, 80 KB Swings, 400m Sandbag Carry, 80 Push Ups, and a final Sandbag Carry to the starting point. The intensity really gets ratcheted up when there are teams, that is for sure!
