The Prowler’s Maiden Voyage

Eric B, our Olympic strongman, assembled the Prowler and gave it its maiden voyage. I can attest it will challenge you. Hip and leg drive is key to moving this beast. It can be pushed from the low bar position or the horizontal posts (easier), or, thanks to Kevin E, pulled with straps. This will be the frosting on the cake of hurt.

Based upon the results of the CFC website poll, it would appear that the new mid-morning class time that will work out best for most is 9:30; beginning June 14, CFC will have a 9:30 class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

December 23rd, 2009: Christening the Equipment / PR

First things first … Eric B pulled a 500lb deadlift yesterday, a new PR for him. Well done!

Eric had the honors of doing the first muscle up on the newly mounted rings, using the weighted tire sled, and the 85lb sandbags …

Climbing Ropes, Gymnastics Rings and a Heavy Bag

WOD: assemble scaffolding, install 4 climbing ropes, 2 pair of gymnastic rings, and 1 heavy bag for, then disassemble scaffolding, for time. Project Manager Joe C and Assistant Project Manager Paul D knocked out 9 hours of work in about 4 hours. Now this is a total CrossFit facility!

Clock Gone Bad

Gear is starting to arrive, so over the next few weeks you will notice some welcome additions. The first is already up and being used in today’s WOD: Clock Gone Bad. No, seriously, that is the name of the electronic timer. It is programmable, from a remote, to time Fight Gone Bad, Tabata (part of today’s WOD), count up, or count down from a set time (great for any AMRAP workouts). High tech meets Paleolithic.
Look for more surprises in the next two weeks …
