With our master webmaster off in Costa Rica looking for the cast of “Lost”, we stalled a bit on our postings, so now we are making up for lost time: on Monday, March 29th, we had a back breaker of a workout: 5 rounds of 10 Deadlifts, 10 Power Cleans, 10 Front Squats, 10 Push Jerks, and 10 Back Squats, with a 2 minute rest in between each round. Brutal. Everyone rose to the challenge, with no quitting, whining or crying (but plenty of sweating and groaning). Mike D, Matt B, Frank B, Joe G, Paul J, Justine L, Eric S, and John M featured.
Tanner C ended up finishing in 71st place and Eric B was 82nd. I think there were 125 total entries for the men.
The Saturday morning (3/20/10) WOD was simply beautiful: 21 calorie Row, 21 Medicine Ball Cleans, 21 Walking Lunges, run to the top of the driveway, 21 Kettlebell Swings, run to the marker, then back for the same for 15 reps, then 9 reps. Frank C paved the way, with Steve R, Scott L, Kathy K and Amy F in on the fun.
The Friday WOD was tailor made for the weather: a 400m run with 20 Burpees (Yay Burpees!), then a 400m run with 15 Burpees, and a 400m run with 10 Burpees for time, a 5 minute recovery, then 75 Box Jumps for time. I was able to catch various members throughout the day; pictured are Mike R, Jess G, James M, Frank C, Tim D, and John E. Great effort on a challenging workout!
Our newest coach, Paul D, attended the CrossFit Level I Certification this weekend at CrossFit Watertown. Paul is also planning on attending the weightlifting, power lifting and football certifications in the coming months, and will be an excellent resource (and coach) to have in the gym!
